It has been a fun summer here in Seattle. Jake and Violet are growing up fast and are about to start walking. This video was taken May 10th in our back yard. The kids are having fun splashing and Jake is helping to keep all the toys in the water.

Bonnie had a great Mother’s Day this year. ( The best day ever she claims ! yay ! )

It started out with a pancake and bacon breakfast. Next we piled in the car and drove to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. We got there a half hour after it opened before lots of people got there. It was a beautiful morning. Jake and Violet really liked the giraffe and petting the goats. We also saw a bear, flamingos, and a minuture cow. One of our favorite parts was having lunch on the grass and watching Jake and Violet crawl around.

The family took its first vacation in April. We went to MN to see the grandparents.

Jake and Violet did well traveling. They were very good on the airplane and they both slept part of the way. We stayed at my friend Tony’s the first night and drove to Bemidji the next day.

Seeing the grandparents was really wonderful for everyone. Jake and Violet recognized Grandma from all the video calls we do. My sister Erin drove up to see us too. We all had a great time. We stayed for 4 days.

We then drove to Minneapolis and went site seeing for a couple of days. We visited the downtown sculpture park ( what happened to the cherry ?). The next day we went to the Mall of America. We were able to walk through the skyway from the Hilton to the tram. The tram goes right to the Mall. At the Mall Jake and Violet had  a real fun time at Lego Land with the Duplo blocks. They were sad when we had to leave. My cousin Melissa and friend Rob stopped by to visit also, it was great to see them.

The twins had a wonderful birthday celebration. We celebrated in the morning with a pancake, bacon and fruit breakfast. Lots of friends and family came with their kids.

Once Jake and Violet saw all the balloons they knew it was a special day. They had some special chocolate chip pancakes (much to Bonnies chagrin - yay!). If that wasn’t enough they each had a carrot cake cupcake with cream cheese frosting.

Present opening was fun. The bigger kids helped unwrap the gifts. Jake was getting nervous when he first saw Violet’s big chair unwrapped. Everything was OK once he unwrapped his big chair.

After a much needed nap we took them in their new wagon to the park. They had fun playing in the fire truck.
